Description
Knowledge on the distribution of artefacts and on their source of raw material allows to get insights into prehistoric contacts and the area of movement. Samples of the archaeological sites Melnychna Krucha, Kamyane Zavallia and Mogylna III in Ukraine have been investigated. The chosen archaeological sites cover a timespan of more than 3500 years.
With the sedimentary microfacies we can determine the geological attribution of the mother rock. Therefore, it gives us clues about raw material provenience.
