Limited Balanced Truncation for Large-Scale Sparse Second-Order Systems

  • 1. Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems

This package contains an implementation of the frequency- and time-limited balanced truncation for large-scale sparse second-order systems. The software is provided as a zip-archive and needs either MATLAB R2012b or later with the System Control Toolbox, or Octave 4.0.0 or later with the Control Package 3.0.0 or later to run properly.

This work was supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) research training group 2297 "MathCoRe", Magdeburg, and the German Research Foundation (DFG) priority program 1897: "Calm, Smooth and Smart -- Novel Approaches for Influencing Vibrations by Means of Deliberately Introduced Dissipation". We would like to thank Patrick K├╝rschner who helped with the initial version of the codes for the Lyapunov equation solvers and gave comments and ideas during the development.
