The BuildON interoperable and secure IT framework is a software framework made of on-site edge gateways and containerised cloud services, with a published application programming interface (API) specification. It connects the separate systems in a building — building management systems, meters, In ternet of Things (IoT) sensors, heating and co oling controllers — with external feeds such as weather and energy prices, and turns their data into one consistent, machine-readable description of the building, its equipment and its live measurements.
