Report on webinar series, including webinar recordings (Deliverable D9.8)

Deliverable D9.8 provides a summary of the OCEAN ICE open webinar series, facilitated by the European Polar Board. The webinars were designed to present the project’s goals, expected outcomes, and work package progress to a broad audience. The webinar series comprised an introductory webinar, a series of work package-focused sessions, and a concluding webinar, with each presentation tailored to highlight the specific contributions and achievements of its respective work package.

The introductory webinar took place on 23 March 2025, followed by work package-focused sessions from mid-2024 through the end of 2025, once the project's research and activities had advanced sufficiently to present substantive findings and progress. A concluding webinar is planned for the final phase of the project. Each work package session was led by the respective work package leader and their team members.

The European Polar Board served as the organizer, host, and moderator for all webinar sessions. The European Polar Board also designed and produced all visual and promotional materials for the series and actively supported dissemination efforts through its own communication channels, those of the EU Polar Cluster, and associated newsletters. Recognizing the diverse needs of different work packages, the webinar formats were adapted to suit the specific requirements and content of each session.

To maximize reach and lasting impact, all webinars were recorded and remain publicly accessible through the European Polar Board's YouTube channel. By opening the webinars to public access, the project secures its legacy and ensures that valuable information remains available to the scientific community, policy makers and interested members of the public beyond the project's completion.

A total of 444 participants registered for the webinar series, and the recordings had received 1,520 views as of 30 January 2026. The webinar series has proven successful in achieving its dissemination objectives, demonstrating the project's commitment to inclusive communication of its findings and progress.
