Optimized Operation of Power Systems with Consideration of Stability Aspects
Authors/Creators
Description
Increasing electrification and remote renewable integration force power systems to operate near operational limits, of ten necessitating redispatch. However, high loading can compromise voltage stability even when static constraints are met. This paper proposes a Voltage Stability Constrained Optimal Power Flow (VSC-OPF) framework by extending the optimization tool AMYGO to incorporate explicit stability indicators. Applied to
congestion management, the approach enhances the identification of critical states and ensures larger stability margins. The results demonstrate an increase in system loadability while maintaining a secure distance from the stability limit.
