Building on the Mutual Learning Exercise (MLE) on Science Communication in Research & Innovation (R&I), Topic 4: Building skills and competences - a science communication competence framework continues the shared effort to strengthen EU and national support for science communication (scicomm) by enabling the European Research Area (ERA) countries to jointly explore policy challenges and opportunities. This MLE topic policy report unpacks professionalisation and capacity building structures in science communication in various contexts across Europe, and responds to the question: how can policy and institutional change support a science communication landscape that is resilient, futureproof and connected?
