D2.3 A Demand Response programme to increase rates of flexibility at energy communities - Spanish pilot evaluation

This deliverable (D2.3) is part of the WP2 deliverables set and reports on the development, deployment and assessment of the Spanish pilot within the GLocalFlex project.

Section 1 (Introduction) provides the context and scope of the deliverable within WP2, outlines the objectives of the Spanish pilot, and describes the involved partners, their roles and responsibilities, as well as the overall pilot architecture for the rural and urban sites.

Section 2 (Development) describes the technical development activities undertaken within the Spanish pilot. It covers the pilot data sources, the IoT platform, the optimisation and forecasting models, the flexibility catalogue, and the Smart Energy Management System, as well as the integration with external data sources and the GLocalFlex flexibility market platform through the Trading Agent.

Section 3 (Deployment) reports on the deployment activities at both the rural and urban sites, detailing the installation and commissioning of smart devices, HVAC systems, electric vehicle chargers, photovoltaic systems and supporting software components.

Section 4 (Flexibility Service Key Performance Indicators) presents the flexibility service KPIs defined for the Spanish pilot and summarises the results obtained for the rural and urban sites, providing an initial assessment of pilot performance.

Section 5 (Data Privacy and Security) addresses data privacy, cybersecurity and governance aspects, describing how GDPR compliance, data protection and role-based access control have been implemented within the pilot architecture.

Section 6 (Execution Planning) outlines the execution planning for the remaining project activities, including the work plan for upcoming tasks and the associated risk assessment and mitigation measures. 14 15 Finally,

Section 7 (Conclusion) provides overall conclusions on the current status of the Spanish pilot.

The document is complemented by a set ofannexes that provide detailed technical descriptions of specific components, including the IoT gateway, optimisation and forecasting models, the Trading Agent, and the operational and decision-making roles defined within the Smart Energy Management System
