Description
This dataset presents the ecological risk across 7 European river basin hubs, calculated by the Ecological Risk due to Flow Alteration (ERFA) tool for an ensemble of 56 climate simulation and hydrological model combinations across two future periods. Results are provided for ~5300 sub-catchments within the seven STARS4Water basins (Danube, Douro, Drammen, East Anglia, Messara, Rhine, Seine).
The tool analyses the ecological impact of river flow under 8 EURO-CORDEX (EUR11) climate scenarios, each with 7 hydrological model ensemble members from EHYPEcatch. The period 1971-2000 was taken as the baseline, 2031-2060 for the near future and 2061-2090 for the far future.
This study is part of the STARS4Water project, aiming to improve the understanding of climate change impacts on water resources availability and the vulnerabilities for ecosystems, society and the economy at river basin scale: https://stars4water.eu/
