Description

This deliverable describes the conceptual basis, assessment processes, criteria, data requirements and analytical approaches used in the Baltic Management Effectiveness Assessment (MANEA) method and the Automated MPA Management Extent Assessment (AMMEA) methods. The document also outlines their intended applications, strengths and limitations, and provides guidance on their use in assessing management effectiveness and management extent within Baltic Sea MPAs. Together, these complementary methods support more consistent, transparent and evidence-based assessments of MPA management at both site and network scales, contributing to improved conservation outcomes across the Baltic Sea region.
