28J en temps adversos: viure i resistir l'anti-gènere

During a talk at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center as part of International LGBTQIA+ Pride Day, Leon Freude examined the contemporary rise of anti-gender movements that challenge feminist, trans, and LGBTQI+ rights. Drawing on qualitative research with more than thirty activists conducted as part of the RESIST Project's case study on Spain - Catalonia and the Basque Country, led by Maria Rodó-Zárate, the talk explored how these mobilizations are experienced in everyday life, activist spaces, and the public sphere, highlighting both their emotional and political impacts and the practices of resistance, care, and solidarity that emerge in response. The presentation situated these developments within a broader transnational context, linking current struggles to the historical fight for LGBTQI+ rights since Stonewall.
Abstract
En el marc del 28J, aquesta xerrada parteix de Stonewall i de la història de les lluites pels drets LGTBIQ+ per situar-nos en el present: un context marcat per l’avenç de discursos i mobilitzacions anti-gènere que qüestionen els drets feministes, trans i LGTBIQ+. A partir d’una recerca qualitativa amb més de trenta participants, s’analitza com activistes feministes i LGTBIQ+ experimenten aquestes ofensives en la seva vida quotidiana, en els espais militants i en l’esfera pública. La presentació mostrarà els efectes emocionals, polítics i relacionals d’aquestes violències, però també les pràctiques de resistència, cura i solidaritat que emergeixen davant d’elles. En diàleg amb el projecte RESIST, s’entenen les polítiques anti-gènere com un fenomen transnacional, divers i situat, que amenaça la igualtat, la diversitat sexual i de gènere, i la legitimitat dels sabers crítics.
