D5.3 Sustainable Access Framework

  • 1. Mercator Ocean International

Description

This deliverable sets out a Sustainable Access Framework to enable DTO-BioFlow data streams and Demonstrator Use Cases (DUCs) to be integrated into, and operated within, the EDITO ecosystem in a manner that is coherent with platform standards and long-term sustainability objectives - in particular with the architectural, operational, and policy foundations established through the EU-funded projects EDITO-Infra, EDITO-ModelLab, and EDITO2. The framework establishes governance principles, procedures, and technical requirements to support sustainable access and resource-efficient operations. It regulates access to the EDITO infrastructure, promotes sustainable use of computing and storage resources through case-by-case resource assessment, and supports sustained access to onboarded data and DUCs to maximise uptake and reuse.

Overall, the Sustainable Access Framework presented here provides a practical, policy-aligned reference for EDITO contributors and DTO-BioFlow partners to integrate and develop DTO-BioFlow outputs within EDITO in a sustainable, interoperable, and compliant manner, thereby enabling sustained availability and wider exploitation of marine biodiversity data and demonstrators across scientific, technical, policy, and societal user communities.
