The RESIST Project Conference: Intersectional Queer Feminist Resistances Against 'Anti-Gender' Politics

The RESIST Project’s Final Conference Intersectional Queer Feminist Resistances Against ‘Anti-Gender’ Politics was held in Warsaw, Poland, on June 17-19, 2026.

Over three days, the conference gathered approximately 95 participants (inclusive of the RESIST team and RESIST Academic and Popular book collaborators), with approximately 40 presenters selected through the conference open call, with the selection based on academic merit and alignment with the conference and project’s scope. In total, we received approximately 75 submissions from the open call.

The conference brought together queer-feminist academics and activists working at universities and civil society organisations based in Poland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, the UK, and the US, among others.

The conference was designed to be accessible to both academics and activists, with its central theme revolving around intersectional queer-feminist resistances against ‘anti-gender’ politics in Europe and beyond.

The panel sessions ranged thematically from transnational ‘anti-gender’ networks and queer-feminist resistance—including trans studies and decolonial studies as sites of resistance—to strategies for alliance building and queer-feminist activism across regions and borders.
