Description

This is the metadata record of the dataset containing flow cytometry data generated within the HORUS project to characterise immune cell populations and their functional states in solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients. The objective of this dataset is to investigate immune responses associated with cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, with a particular focus on identifying predictive immunological markers of CMV reactivation and disease progression. The dataset is based on deep immunophenotyping of T cell and natural killer (NK) cell populations using spectral flow cytometry. Five complementary panels were used to analyse extracellular and intracellular markers, including activation, exhaustion, cytotoxicity, and transcription factor profiles across multiple immune cell subsets (e.g. αβ T cells, γδ T cells, NK cells). Samples were processed through stimulation, staining, fixation, and acquisition using a Cytek Aurora spectral flow cytometer, with parallel functional assays (e.g. T-SPOT CMV) performed on selected samples. The dataset consists of Flow Cytometry Standard (.fcs) and T-SPOT CMV (.xlsx) files together with associated metadata describing samples and experimental conditions. Due to the complexity of the experimental design and data structure, detailed documentation (README) is provided to support interpretation and reuse. Given the large volume of the dataset (~400 GB) and the presence of data derived from human biological samples, the full dataset is not openly accessible. Data are pseudonymised and subject to GDPR and ethical constraints. Access to the dataset is provided under controlled conditions. Data may be shared upon justified request for research purposes, subject to:
1. scientific evaluation of the request,
2. approval by the HORUS consortium,
3. compliance with applicable legal, ethical, and data protection requirements.
The data are securely stored within the CREDIM infrastructure (University of Bordeaux). This Zenodo record provides metadata and documentation to ensure discoverability and to facilitate access requests.
