Description

This publication presents key insights from the StreamSCAPES project, exploring the sustainable climate transition (SCT) within the European Video-on-Demand (VOD) ecosystem. Presented at the Cannes Film Market on May 13, 2026, the brief combines policy mapping across nine European nations with empirical data from five industry workshops and a series of expert interviews. By analysing sustainability challenges across production, distribution, and consumption, the text identifies critical regulatory gaps, outlines three urgent policy needs for European stakeholders (knowledge exchange, harmonisation, and addressing sectoral asymmetries), and proposes three strategic avenues to strengthen EU-Latin America cooperation in greening the digital infrastructure.
