Report with new business models for sustainable craft

Description

This deliverable develops an empirically grounded understanding

of sustainable business models for craft within the HEPHAESTUS

project. Based on fieldwork, case analyses and participatory

educational activities across the project’s regional craft

ecosystems, the report examines how craft makers and related

organizations create and sustain economic, cultural, social and

ecological value. Using the Business Model Canvas selectively

as an analytical vocabulary, the report identifies recurrent

tensions around value proposition, customers, place, time,

growth, education and sustainability. The findings have resulted

in a toolkit for sustainable craft business model reflection,

designed to support craft makers and stakeholders in examining

their own practices and exploring possible directions for future

development.
