Description

This article introduces the Principle-Based Empirically Grounded Roadmap Approach (PERA), a methodology for integrating ethics into the development of digital mental healthcare technologies. Developed within the Horizon Europe project ASPbelong, PERA combines ethical principles from the literature, empirical insights from comparable technologies, and original data from the development of the Lina augmented reality intervention for adolescents. The approach produces an adaptable ethics roadmap intended to support ethical reflection in current and future iterations of gamified digital mental health interventions.
