2021 - ALADIN-LISCA RADAR LOWEST ELEVATION ANGLE

  • 1. ROR icon University of Ljubljana

Description

This record contains meteorological datasets for 2021 from two complementary sources over Slovenia: ALADIN limited-area numerical weather prediction model output and LISCA weather radar observations from eastern Slovenia provided by the Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO). The ALADIN data are in GRIB format on a 137 × 137 regular grid with 4.4 km spatial resolution, hourly temporal resolution, and a 6-hour assimilation cycle. The datasets include variables at surface, mean sea level, 2 m and 10 m above ground, and multiple pressure levels, covering key meteorological fields such as wind, temperature, humidity, geopotential, pressure, cloud cover, CAPE, and precipitation. The Lisca radar data are provided in HDF5 format and include DBZH reflectivity at the 0.5° elevation angle. Together, these datasets support research in mesoscale meteorology, data assimilation, hydrometeorological forecasting, and artificial intelligence applications.
