The New GTN-P Data Platform: A Central Resource for Monitoring and Modeling Arctic Permafrost Change
Authors/Creators
Description
The new GTN-P Data Platform provides data for the two Permafrost ECV products Permafrost Temperature (PT) and Active Layer Thickness (ALT) as defined by the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS). As the primary entry point for sharing permafrost data, the GTN-P Data Platform is an essential resource for pan-Arctic modelling of permafrost dynamics. Long-term observations delivered through GTN-P are fundamental for understanding how permafrost responds to a warming climate and how much greenhouse gas contributions from thawing permafrost we can expect in the future.
