Young people's views and experiences of youth vaping in their community A co-created study between embedded researchers and local authority public health practitioners - Final Report.

Description

This HDRC study explored how young people in Doncaster access and use vapes, against a backdrop of rising national youth vaping and existing local health inequalities. Using qualitative fieldwork with youth groups aged 13 and over, the co-created research found that vaping is more common among already disadvantaged groups, with regular use more prevalent than occasional use and limited awareness of legal restrictions or health risks. Young people identified the strong appeal of vaping products and suggested clearer information, better support services and reduced access as ways to reduce use. The project also highlighted the benefits of collaborative research within a local authority, with findings published in Perspectives in Public Health.
