Frame-Dragging from χ Wave Propagation: Gravitomagnetism Emerges from GOV-02

Description

Frame-dragging (Lense-Thirring precession) has been considered a challenge for the Lattice Field Medium (LFM) framework because the simplified quasi-static χ field (GOV-03) cannot encode angular momentum information. This paper demonstrates that frame-dragging emerges naturally from the full coupled wave system (GOV-01 + GOV-02), specifically from the finite propagation speed of χ disturbances.

A rotating mass creates a time-varying source that generates outward-propagating χ waves. Due to the finite speed c, the χ field develops an asymmetry: higher χ ahead of the rotating mass and lower χ behind. This asymmetry creates a tangential component of ∇χ that transfers angular momentum differently to prograde versus retrograde orbits.

Key Results:

  • Mean χ asymmetry (ahead − behind) = +0.030
  • Prograde ΔL = −4.98, Retrograde ΔL = +3.82
  • |ΔL_prograde| − |ΔL_retrograde| = 1.16 (frame-dragging signature)
  • Asymmetry scales linearly with rotation speed (v/c) and coupling strength (κ)

This mechanism is analogous to Liénard-Wiechert retarded potentials in electromagnetism—the χ field "remembers" where the mass was, creating velocity-dependent forces. Frame-dragging thus emerges from first principles without fitting to general relativity.
