Preko granice tradicionalnog pristupa proučavanja fenomena stećaka: nove metode i nova pitanja

Lecture for high school students from schools across Serbia, delivered as part of the Winter Seminar of Archaeology II at the Petnica Science Center, on February 1, 2026.

The lecture, entitled “Beyond the boundaries of traditional approaches to the study of Stećci: new methods and novel questions”, addressed the distinction between traditional perspectives on the study of stećci and innovative research pathways. The presentation explored archaeological sites as palimpsests, approaches to investigating social identities, and methods for studying transhumant pastoral communities. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of transdisciplinarity and the potential of digital techniques for documenting and analysing these medieval tombstones.
