Quantum vs. Traditional Mindfulness: A Comparative Analysis of Phenomenological and Structural Frameworks
Description
The contemporary landscape of mindfulness research has witnessed a profound paradigm shift. What began as the clinical translation of Buddhist contemplative traditions has evolved into a pluralistic ecosystem of competing methodologies. The dominant discourse—shaped by the "Third Wave" of cognitive-behavioral therapies—has long prioritized metacognitive detachment and non-judgmental awareness (Kabat-Zinn, 1990; Hayes et al., 1999). Yet emerging theoretical frameworks now challenge the hegemony of these passive observational models.
This paper undertakes a rigorous comparative analysis of the established Traditional Mindfulness (TM) paradigm and the emergent Quantum Mindfulness (QM) framework. The distinction between these approaches transcends methodology to touch the epistemological: they posit fundamentally different relationships between observer and observed, between the architecture of consciousness and the phenomenology of experience.
