Description
This document describes the calibration of the SOHO/EPHIN energetic particle instrument, detailing updates to the dE/dx–dE/dx method required due to instrument aging and improvements to the EPHIN and spacecraft models. Using GEANT4 simulations and bowtie analysis, revised proton and helium fluxes were derived and validated against PAMELA and AMS-02 measurements. The results show agreement within about 30%, demonstrating the reliability of the updated calibration approach within the SPEARHEAD project.
