TOFES commissioning data: echelle spectroscopy of stellar standards and solar spectrum (2024-06-21)
Description
This dataset contains observations from the commissioning run of TOFES (Tartu Observatory Fiber-fed Echelle Spectrograph) for the Tartu Observatory AZT-12 telescope conducted on June 21, 2024. For this observing run, a 20 cm F/5 amateur reflector telescope was used to feed the spectrograph. The observations include daylight sky spectra (Sun), along with stellar targets Vega (α Lyr, A0V, V=0.03), Arcturus (α Boo, K1.5III, V=-0.05), and CN Boo (HD 124953, A8V, V=5.96). All observations were carried out at the highest spectral resolution of R≈33,000. The dataset comprises both raw science frames and associated calibration data necessary for complete spectroscopic reduction.
All data are provided as FITS files with comprehensive metadata encoded in the headers following standard conventions. The archive includes a README.md file and XML-formatted metadata files that document the archive structure and specify the relationships between science targets and their corresponding calibration sequences.
This dataset serves as supplementary material for the article "The Tartu Observatory Fiber-fed Echelle Spectrograph (TOFES) Data Reduction Pipeline" by Bothakur, S. P. D. et al. (2025, submitted) and was utilized in the development and validation of the TOFES-DRP data reduction pipeline.
