Description

The first EOSC EDEN webinar, held on 1 December 2025, introduced one of the project’s key outcomes: the Core Preservation Processes (CPPs), a foundational set of thirty essential activities that every Trustworthy Digital Archive (TDA) should undertake to fulfil its digital preservation mandate. Developed within the EU-funded EOSC EDEN project, the CPPs provide a structured and comprehensive description of the actions required to ensure long-term accessibility, integrity, and usability of research data, either directly by TDAs or through collaboration with partner organisations and services.

The webinar marked the launch of EOSC EDEN’s dissemination series, aimed at sharing results and fostering dialogue on advancing digital preservation practices across Europe. During the session, the project team presented the rationale, scope, and development of the EOSC EDEN project, Work package 1, and CPPs.

A detailed paper on the CPPs is available in the EOSC EDEN Zenodo Community, and the project welcomes feedback and discussion via GitHub and the online form hosted on the EOSC EDEN website. The webinar was designed for digital preservation professionals, data curators, archival educators, students, and all stakeholders interested in strengthening FAIR, sustainable, and trustworthy research data stewardship.
