Description

ICARUS set out to transform upstream processing residues rich in high purity silicon and its embedded energy into valuable secondary raw materials. The project demonstrated modular and industrial scale processing solutions capable of recovering up to 95% of high value materials from silicon ingot and wafer manufacturing for photovoltaic applications. By applying eco-efficient processing, refining, and transformation of industrial silicon, graphite, and silica residues, ICARUS supports a more sustainable and resource efficient PV value chain.
