Description

This repository contains the complete training materials for the Practical MEEG 2025 – Brainstorm Walkthrough, a hands-on workshop that guides participants through end-to-end MEG/EEG analysis using the Brainstorm software. It includes a pruned and reorganized version of the Wakeman multimodal dataset (in BIDS format), preprocessed MEG/EEG data for 16 subjects, FEM head models, and fully prepared Brainstorm protocols for both single-subject and group-level analysis.

The materials support all workshop sessions, covering raw data inspection, preprocessing, artifact correction, sensor- and source-level analysis, time–frequency decomposition, forward/inverse modeling, statistical testing, connectivity, decoding (MVPA), and reproducible scripting. Step-by-step instructions mirror the official Brainstorm tutorials and promote best practices for transparent and reproducible M/EEG research.

These resources are intended for training, teaching, and reproducible pipeline development in MEG/EEG analysis. Please cite Brainstorm (Tadel et al. 2011; Tadel et al. 2019) and the W&H dataset when using these materials.

The full instructions for the participants were initially published in the CuttingEEG users' forum.

📦 PracticalMEEG 2025 — Brainstorm Data Package Final

We have pruned and reorganized the data to include only the essential files required for the workshop.
All necessary datasets are now provided in a smaller, ready-to-use folder that includes the Zenodo data and complementary materials.

The following material PracticalMEEG2025_FinalMaterials.zip contains: (size ~5Go)

  • ds000117_pruned.zip — Pruned version of the original dataset, including T1 MRI and DWI data.

  • femmat_tensors.mat — Realistic FEM head model with mesh and conductivity tensors (from DWI).

  • PracticalMEEG_sub-01_3-runs.zip — Preprocessed data for subject sub-01 with 3 runs (sensor, forward, source, and TF data).

  • PracticalMEEGGroup_pruned.zip — Group-level data from 16 subjects (6 runs each), containing intra-subject folders only; MEG source maps for Face–Scramble retained.

  • Readme.txt — Overview and instructions for the PracticalMEEG 2025 workshop materials.

This repo also contains the version of the brainstorm software that was used in the workshop: brainstorm3-master.zip
