MYRIAD-SIM Stochastic Weather Dataset for Case Studies
Description
These are stochastic weather datasets for different case study areas that have been explored in a forthcoming study on multi-hazard return periods. The following case study areas are included:
- Burgundy, France
- Sicily, Italy
- UK & Ireland.
This stochastic dataset has been generated by the MYRIAD-Stochastic vIne-copula Model (MYRIAD-SIM) (Claassen et al., 2025). MYRIAD-SIM captures both spatiotemporal and multivariate dependencies with the use of conditional vine copulas, a statistical tool.
The simulated data each relevant variable and variable are provided in a NetCDF file. Each NetCDF contains four dimensions and five attributes, as described in Table 1. The data variable names are t2m, pr, ws, for temperature, precipitation and wind speed respectively. The data has 64 ensemble members which each run from 2008 to 2023.
