SolarHub D2.5: Start-up Report on Green Economic Growth

SolarHub’s ‘Start-up Report on Green Economic Growth (GEG)’ provides a general framework on GEG, the position of Greece (GR) and Turkiye (TR) on GEG, and an outline for green business plans (GBP) on solar technologies considering the four SolarHub pre-designs in WP3. In our start-up report, in Section 3, we describe the GEG, review two possible ways of measuring GEG across countries, and summarize the potential contribution of the pre-designs to GEG. In Section 4, the start-up report outlines a 6-step GBP that could be employed in solar energy settings using SolarHub pre-designs as case studies. The GBP outline mainly starts with an introduction that includes a general executive summary of the solar energy business employed and a mission statement for the company. The second part of the GBP will discuss the technical aspects of solar energy technologies. The concept will be set, and the technology market will be explained from a technical perspective. The market gap, the working Technology Readiness Level (TRL), and the market approach will also be defined. From a technical standpoint, short summaries of the SolarHub pre-designs will be given along with necessary information regarding the uses of the application and the type of users the technologies appeal to. In the economic aspects following a product description, market information is set, and a marketing and financial plan will follow. Unlike regular Business Plans (BPs), GBP includes societal and environmental aspects, promoting the quadruple helix. Training programs are significant parts of Green Business Plans, and specific green training programs are suggested that could be used by solar technology producers. Also, the training program that will be set within SolarHub on GBP for companies is discussed. The legislative aspects, as well as standardization and certification, play an essential role in Green Business Plans. These aspects have also been discussed as a part of the GBP outline. In Sections 5 and 6, the Data Management Requirements and Dissemination, Exploitation, and Communication (DEC) activities relevant to the SolarHub project are summarized, respectively. In Section 7, conclusions are drawn.
