Lunar Quantum Data Center
Description
This paper presents the Extended Scientific Vision of the Lunar Quantum Data Center (LQDC), a cryogenic off-world computing infrastructure concept designed by Fabiano Rosolem (IAmOctopus Research and Development, 2025). The proposal integrates quantum computing, helium-3 fusion energy modules, and the Moon’s natural cryogenic environment to create a sustainable data processing ecosystem beyond Earth. The system aims to reduce planetary energy consumption by relocating large-scale computation to the lunar surface, using optical communication for data transmission between Earth and the Moon. The concept also introduces robotic modular construction for future autonomous data centers in extraterrestrial environments.
