Supplementary data of Chira et al. 2025 (DOI: 10.1093/mnras/staf1905)
Description
Here we provide the data sample and main code used for the paper "Revisiting the X-ray–to–UV relation of Quasars in the era of all-sky surveys" by Chira et al. to reproduce the main results of the paper, in the spirit of the FAIR principles.
The content of the .zip file is the following:
-
A python script “LX_LUV_example.py” which reads the data and fits the loglinear model of Eq. (10) in redshifts bins.
-
Folder “utils” which contains a helper function to handle the stan output and the code to calculate the conversion factor between L2keV bolometric X-ray flux.
-
Folder STAN_MODELS containing the four model flavors employed in the analysis:
-
Model_Gaussian.stan -> model described by Eq. (8) of Chira et al.
-
Model_shifts.stan -> model described by Eq. (9) of Chira et al.
-
ModelZ.stan -> model described by Eq. (10) of Chira et al.
-
ModelZEVOL.stan -> model described by Eq. (10)-(12) of Chira et al.
-
The folder data_sample contains ‘LXLUV_DR16Q.fits’ containing 11 columns:
-
‘SDSS_NAME: string containing the SDSS_NAME of the source in DR16Q (Lyke et al. 2020)
-
logL2500AA: The monochromatic 2500A luminosity calculated by SED fitting and additionally corrected for host galaxy contamination for z<0.8.
-
counts: the source X-ray counts
-
bkg: the background X-ray counts
-
texp_corr: the vignetting-corrected exposure time
-
FLAG_XRAY: 0: Photometric information from XMM-Newton 1: Photometric information from eRASS1.
-
Z: redshift of the source from DR16Q
-
RA, DEC: coordinates of the optical QSO from DR16Q
-
LOGMBH, LOGLEDD_RATIO: Black Hole Mass and Eddington ratio taken from Wu & Shen, 2022.
