Unlocking the Potential of Open Science: EOSC in Practice

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is Europe’s flagship initiative to accelerate the transition to open science.
By enabling seamless access to research data, services, and digital research environments across disciplines and borders, EOSC supports more effective, transparent, and collaborative research. But what does this mean in practice?
This session will place EOSC in context — why it matters now, and how it contributes to the broader European research ecosystem. Finally, with the EOSC EU node, EOSC is becoming a tangible solution for the growing demands for FAIR data, cross-border collaboration, team science, and digital sovereignty. The EOSC EU Node is the first node in the federation of services and resources. It offers researchers and research support staff a first look at what EOSC can deliver.
We’ll explore the current state of development and offer a preview of what’s coming next: further integration of national nodes, onboarding of services, and user-driven improvements. We will also present the SURF EOSC Pilot Node which showcases how organisations in Netherlands can contribute to shaping, contributing to, and benefiting from the EOSC Federation.
