Description
Workshop entitled Novel Bioplastics Applications: Design Breakthroughs & Recycling Pathways
- ️Date: 10 October 2025
- Time: 14:30–16:30 CEST
- Location: Side Event Space, K Fair Venue, Hall 1, Room 14a
The workshop will bring together bioplastics projects and industry players. Applications and recycling solutions will be presented by ReBioCycle, MoeBIOS, PROSPER, TERRIFIC, REPurpose, and BioSupPack. Below is the agenda of the event:
14:30–14:40 | Welcome and Introduction
14:40–15:15| Project Pitches: Innovations in Bioplastics
Focus: Goals, expected innovations, mock-ups/demonstrators, and opportunities for collaboration.
Innovative biobased and biodegradable products
- BioSupPack demonstrators: Víctor Sevilla (AIMPLAS) and Lorena Rodríguez (GPI)
- TERRIFIC prototypes: Alberto Castellanza (NOVAMONT)
- REPurpose mockups: Hanaa Dahy (Aalborg University)
How can we recycle them?
- Carmen Sánchez (ITENE)/MoeBIOS
- Kevin O’Connor (BiOrbic, University College Dublin)/ReBioCycle
- Wouter Post (Wageningen University & Research)/PROSPER
- Perspective of ALIA recycler: Plastic Packaging Recovery from the Prato Textile District, with Francesco Baldi (ALIA)/MoeBIOS
15:15–16:30| Speed Networking: Connecting Research and Industry (Coffee will be served during this timeslot.)
Format: The participants will move to the seven high tables to talk to the speaker assigned to each table. It is a matchmaking opportunity!
