Design of a 350 TPH Copper Concentrate Feeding Conveyor Belt with Automated Hydraulic Tensioning System and Receiving Hopper
Description
This thesis presents the mechanical and structural design of a 350 Ton/hr feeding conveyor belt and receiving hopper, addressing the growing demand for optimized mineral transport systems in Peru’s mining industry. While standards like CEMA and AISC provide general guidelines, ambiguities in structural assumptions lead to varied interpretations among manufacturers. A standardized design procedure is proposed, integrating regulatory requirements and dedicated simulation software to ensure precision and efficiency. The project includes the development of an automatic hydraulic oil tensioning system capable of both horizontal and vertical compensation, adaptable to any point along the conveyor’s path. The study concludes with the full mechanical component selection and the complete layout of the feeding system.
