Description
This document constitutes the deliverable D8.2 Ethics Principles which aims at ensuring a rigorous, sound and comprehensive Ethical Framework, thus responding to the necessities that social research and environmental issues arise, particularly regarding the requirements and methodologies to ensure citizens’ rights, security and welfare. The document also provides the procedures for informed consent.
N/P emissions from human activities have environmental and health impacts, that imply a matter of social good and ethical, normative and legal frameworks. Considering the complex interrelationships between biogeochemical transformations caused by anthropogenic activities, NPower commits to 3 ethical principles: environmental integrity, social and environmental justice, and sustainability and stewardship.
NPOWER Consortium will ensure that project procedures align with Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), including the consideration of gender and diversity issues, the ethical implications of risk management, and the responsiveness towards social values.
Special attention will be given to public participation, that represents a core pillar along the project: NPower ethics principles will ensure data protection procedures are set and respected along the lifetime of the project aligning with the Data Management Plan, guaranteeing that participation of stakeholders in project activities is supported by Informed Consent Forms, such as the provided in the Annex.
The Ethics Principles is a living document that will be launched on M6 (June 2025) and revised and updated along the project lifecycle.
