Description
Owing to the constant evolution and demand for wireless networks with advanced features, such as broader network coverage, higher data transfer rates, truly real-time interactions over wireless networks -including sensing and synchronization-, sustainable and environment-friendly solutions, among others, has led to a gradual evolution of wireless communications systems from 1G to 6G. In this paper, we introduce the 6G-REFERENCE distributed radio architecture design to support multiple functionalities through a system-level study, relevant use cases, and system specifications that will be the key to enabling 6G functionalities for joint communications and sensing operating at the FR3 band (7.125 GHz to 24.25 GHz).
