Description
The purpose of this document is to systematically assess, document, and propose targeted interventions for improving accessibility at the SuCoLo project’s pilot sites in Merano, Italy and Leipzig, Germany. As part of T4.1 Design and prepare accessible and inclusive pilots with local stakeholders and T4.2 Run and evaluate pilots in communities of local neighbourhoods, this manuscript shines a light on the accessibility and inclusiveness attributes of SuCoLo’s pilot sites in Leipzig (DE) and Merano (IT). It serves as both a technical and operational reference for identifying architectural, sensory, and informational barriers that may hinder equal access to infrastructure and services, particularly in the context of sustainable bicycle logistics. Through the application of georeferenced POI mapping and the development of Standardised Adaptation Plans (PEBA), the document provides an evidence-based framework for prioritising investments, estimating adaptation costs, and aligning proposed measures with applicable accessibility regulations and best practices.
This deliverable is intended to guide project partners, municipal authorities, and other stakeholders in making informed, data-driven decisions to enhance inclusivity and mobility in urban outskirts. By integrating spatial analysis, on-site surveys, and multi-criteria accessibility evaluations, it ensures that recommendations are not only compliant with legislative standards but also responsive to the practical needs of all user groups, including persons with disabilities, older adults, and families. The document thus plays a role in translating the SuCoLo project’s vision of sustainable, inclusive urban logistics into actionable, measurable outcomes.
This document is complemented with D4.2 Innovative 3D tours describing the accessibility and inclusion of pilot sites according to the IG-VAE methodology, which were designed to digitally visualise the accessibility and inclusivity of SuCoLo’s two pilot sites and their surrounding points of interest (POIs) using the IG-VAE methodology (Guaranteed Information for Accessibility Evaluation Based on Individual Needs).
