Two Principles of Reality: Global Least Action and Local Edge of Chaos
Creators
Description
This article proposes a generative framework for understanding reality based on two complementary and universal principles: the global principle of least action and the local principle of the edge of chaos. Information is defined as a measure of symmetry-breaking, and reality is described as a recursive, layered cascade of such symmetry-breakings. The principle of least action ensures global energetic and informational efficiency, while the edge of chaos provides local adaptive memory and creativity. Together, these principles generate a recursive architecture of emergence, from physics to chemistry, biology, consciousness, and beyond. This model frames reality as a universal engine of creation, memory, and reflection.
