Description

With the aim of raising awareness of the life and work of Mother Carmen Rendiles, and through the systematic study of reliable historical sources, both written and oral, we have provided a brief overview of her story as the founder of the Congregation of the Servants of Jesus in Venezuela. This exemplary sister will become Venezuela's first saint on October 19, 2025, alongside Dr. José Gregorio Hernández. Her birth defect of missing her left arm did not prevent her from studying painting and carpentry and becoming the leader  of her congregation, serving as an example of humility, joy, and perseverance for all her disciples and those who knew her. Her canonization is a divine recognition of an exemplary woman who already protects all of Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador, a protection that will reach every corner where her good works have remained.
