The impact of Trichodiniosis on carp larvae under climate change
Creators
Description
Recent climate changes, particularly rising temperatures, contribute to pond water eutrophication. This process leads to increased ectoparasite populations and decreased carp larvae and post-larvae production in fish farms. This study aims to analyze the correlation between the level of Trichodiniosis parasitism in carp larvae and various factors, including temperature, water chemistry, and hydrobiology, over three years in four carp breeding ponds. The results demonstrate a proportional relationship between rising water temperature, organic matter content, algal biomass, and the incidence of Trichodina sp. parasitism in carp larvae.
