The Impact of Institutionalization Level and Organizational Culture on the Fulfillment of Businesses' ERP Software Expectations
Creators
Description
This study aims to investigate the impact of the level of institutionalization and organizational culture on the expectations businesses have from their ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, focusing on companies operating in different sectors that utilize ERP systems. The research was conducted through a survey administered to 396 participants. The data were collected online and analyzed using SPSS 24. The findings indicate that the level of institutionalization is a significant factor influencing ERP usage expectations. Specifically, the flexibility dimension of institutionalization had a positive impact on pre-implementation ERP expectations, both the consistency and flexibility dimensions of institutionalization had a significant effect on post-implementation expectations. Also, no significant effect of organizational culture on the businesses' ERP expectations was observed. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that businesses with a strong level of institutionalization, in terms of both flexibility and consistency, tend to have their ERP software expectations met to a greater extent. In this context, it is recommended that businesses planning to acquire ERP software align their organizations across all units before the purchase process, conduct a thorough analysis of environmental factors and competition to be prepared for potential challenges, and choose solutions that are suitable for their sector's needs.
