Overview
This dataset documents the development of a central claim in my neuroscience program: the elemental unit of information in the brain is not a binary spike but a coincidence of neural events. First articulated publicly in 2017 on the Neural Lace Podcast and early posts, the thesis states that “a bit of information is a coincidence pattern.” Neurons are thereby modeled as coincidence detectors, with discrete informational outcomes arising when temporally aligned inputs cross criterial thresholds.
