Description

This report was created as part of WP2 ‘IMTA New Value Chains and Production Methods’ of the H2020 All Atlantic Ocean Sustainable, Rentable and Resilient Aquaculture (ASTRAL) project. Throughout the project, several experiments were carried out integrating different species into an IMTA biofloc system (BFT) at the Federal University of Rio Grande - FURG (Brazil). The main results of 7 experiments are presented here and aim to guide future producers interested in adopting a system that does not require water renewal. The experiments were developed to solve the problems of accumulation of organic matter and nutrients arising from the use of the BFT system and thus allow the reuse of water with bioflocs in different production cycles.
