PHILOSOPHICAL ANALYSIS OF VALUE FROM MAX SCHELER'S PERSPECTIVE
Description
This article is titled Philosophical Analysis of Value According to Max Scheler. The purpose of this article is to explore in depth the essence of value as conceived in the mind of the philosopher Max Scheler. The discussion ultimately leads to the relationship between values and the human being. The formation of the human self cannot be separated from the contribution of values. Human beings are one of the creatures on earth endowed with reason and will. Humans are also persons, because they are beings who can perceive and experience value. They are concrete and existent beings, whose highest actions transcend and surpass the entire structure of sensory perception and the laws that unify them. Scheler emphasizes that the person truly lives in and through their actions, but is not absorbed by them. The person remains concrete as a value-subject. According to Scheler, the person is not a substance or object that can be objectified. The person is the center of real or concrete actions. A person can only discover themselves as one who loves and is loved through the act of loving. A person can shape their self through values that are discovered and understood through intuitive acts. Values play a central role in the formation of the human self.
