Matching Function and Technology: Communication for Safety Applications and Superior User Experience

Conducting a study on the optimal position of upcoming communication features for safety applications, we found that regarding hazard warnings, participants focused on the vehicle’s rear, while taillights (max. 75%) and rear window (max. 63%) were the most important positions. The closer participants get to preceding vehicles, the more important are taillights for communication of warning signals.
