Cybercrime has been on the increase in recent years. In particular, the rise in popularity of social media has made online harassment and cyber bullying more important and pervasive. People are increasingly relying on social media for things like networking and access to entertainment. There is a lot of uncertainty regarding the effects on users and how they might safeguard themselves in this uncharted terrain. Some types of crime have become more common among social media's user bases. Several details about victims make them more appealing to their abusers. In certain cases, criminal acts will have overlapping effects. It makes us wonder whether social media sites should be responsible for their users safety. Similarly, how can people stop themselves from being cyberbullied or victims of online harassment? The information acquired is freely available to the public and has been sourced from official institutions and dependable groups.
