"Things, not Strings" is the motto under which NFDI4Culture is fostering data quality. This presentation, delivered at the TA2 Forum "Standards, Data Quality and Curation" on 20 May 2025, offers insights into the technical foundations for enhancing data quality within NFDI4Culture.
We examine the challenges and opportunities of FAIR metadata on two levels: research information and research data. Looking more closely, we demonstrate how FAIR metadata for research information are created in the Culture Information Portal, and how the Culture Knowledge Graph can support the improvement of data quality of cultural heritage data.
