Transcriptomic Profiling of Placental Tissues from a Gas6/AXL-Induced Preeclampsia Rat Model with AXL Inhibitor Intervention

Preeclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy complication marked by hypertension, proteinuria, and systemic inflammation, largely driven by placental dysfunction. The Gas6/AXL signaling axis has been implicated in impaired trophoblast function, vascular dysregulation, and abnormal extracellular matrix deposition in PE. This study investigates the transcriptional effects of AXL receptor tyrosine kinase inhibition in a rat model of PE induced by Gas6 administration. Placental tissues were collected from three groups of pregnant rats: (1) control, (2) Gas6-treated, and (3) Gas6 + AXL inhibitor (R428)-treated. Bulk RNA sequencing was performed on placental samples to capture genome-wide transcriptional changes across groups.
