  • 1. ROR icon University of Applied Sciences Mainz

Description

This lesson is developed as an introduction to the use of NocoDB, an open-source platform that allows users to create and manage relational databases without writing code. Learners will become familiar with core database concepts such as tables, records, and views, and will learn how to create forms, share data, and organize information using different visualization options. The lesson also provides a first glimpse into more advanced topics such as APIs and webhooks, without requiring prior experience in web development or programming. It is designed for participants with no previous technical knowledge and aims to build confidence in using data-driven tools for research and collaboration. The lesson is being developed with the long-term goal of becoming part of the Data Carpentry curriculum, particularly in the context of digital humanities and cultural research. Collaboration and contributions are highly welcome. A rendered version of the lesson can be found here.
