Description

This poster presents the KONNECT XR Instructional Design Framework, a comprehensive framework for designing effective and engaging XR-based training programs. Grounded in adult learning theories and established instructional design models like ADDIE, the framework offers practical guidance for integrating Extended Reality (XR) into educational and workforce training contexts. It highlights XR's unique affordances, such as immersion, interactivity, and spatial engagement, while emphasizing alignment with learning objectives, learner characteristics, and accessibility principles. The poster features a detailed instructional design cycle, assessment typologies linked to XR modalities, and a reality–virtuality continuum to support educators, instructional designers, and subject matter experts in developing scalable, impactful XR learning experiences.
